As per the recently announced match schedule by the cricket body, Pakistan and India are scheduled to face each other on October 15 in the highly anticipated ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, which will take place in Ahmedabad. Prior to this match, Pakistan's first two matches in the tournament will be against qualifiers on October 6 and 12. The World Cup will commence on October 5 with a repeat of the 2019 World Cup final between England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Pakistan will kickstart their World Cup campaign by playing against Qualifier 1 in Hyderabad on October 6, while the host nation, India, will play their first match against five-time World Cup winners Australia in Chennai on October 8. The showcase event will witness the participation of 10 teams, with the first eight having already qualified through the Cricket World Cup Super League. The final two spots will be determined at the conclusion of the ongoing Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe, which will end on July 9.

The tournament will follow a round-robin format, with each team playing against the other nine. The top four teams will advance to the knockout stage and compete in the semi-finals.
